Super Hero’s - Summer School

Saturday 23 July saw Tiffany and Gillian heading off to Divisional Summer School, which is run by Adam Bonner (DYO) and his team for those aged 12 to 25 in the division. This year the theme was Super Hero’s. In the daily cell groups they thought about some of the hero’s in the Bible – Daniel, David, and Ruth - what made them heroes and how this changed the world. The Summer School Film was “Pay it forward”. If you’ve never seen it do borrow a copy and find the time to watch it. The film tells the story of how the dream of one 11-year-old boy changed the world for people around him and then as those people did things for others yet more and more people had their lives changed. The activity streams this year were vocals, brass band, alternative worship, sport and media. In each doing your best for Jesus was reflected and all the students where challenged as to what they are going to do to change the world for Jesus when they go home. The final afternoon was one of celebration as the students graduated with their Summer School Tea-shirts and a programme of worship and activity was prepared for all the families and visitors that attended.
