Desert Detectives

4th - 8th August 2003

The holiday club was based on holiday club resource material produced by Scripture Union. The aim was to find the 'Mighty Godsword' through looking at various events in the Bible from creation to Christ's resurrection. It was not until the last day that the 'Mighty Godsword' was not a sword at all but was infact 'The Mighty God's Word' the Bible

It should be noted that we have always had a policy of accepting any child within the age limits provided we do not go over our maximum numbers. This year we had several children from families of other faiths.

Background Information

Because the week touched on events throughout biblical history, it was decided to produce a biblical timeline to which pictures would be added throughout the week. This was to show the events relative to each other. This timeline also showed the split from Hebrew to Judaism and Christianity, and the split of Judaism and Islam.

As with Last last year additional activities were arranged for the 8 to 11 year olds in the afternoon.

Nomad's Tents

Super Seekers 5 to 6 year olds
Jonah's Whales 7 to 8 year olds
Cactus Team 9 year olds
